Raised in the rugged terrain of Southwest North Dakota, Dusty grew up with a strong work ethic and hands-on know-how — values passed down from his grandfather Olaf. If something broke, he fixed it. If something was needed, he built it. That mindset wasn’t just admirable — it was contagious.

From a young age, Dusty was captivated by the tools of the trade. But it was the knife — functional, beautiful, personal — that captured his imagination. He started small, borrowing inspiration from Olaf’s resourcefulness, slowly learning through trial and error.
